I recently 100% the story of Arkham Origins. And I have a lot to say about this Spin-off.
Disclaimer : This is my opinion only. I respect your opinion if you liked this game. If you disagree with the points that I raise in this review, please let me know!
Gameplay : I liked the difficulty spike the game offered with the new (ish) enforcers, Venom Users and Martial artists. And then came the shock gloves and threw balance out the water. Don't get me wrong; I love using them, the sound of powerful hits connecting is music to my ears, but even I Am The Night difficulty was no match for The Game Breakers known as Shock Gloves.
That said, I didn't like the fact that Batman had next to no new moves. The few moves/gadgets that were introduced were either underpowered (Concussion Detonator) or ridiculously Overpowered (Shock Gloves, Remote claw Heavy Reel Ammo). I liked the new Disruptor design, it's sleek and cool looking. The worst, however, is the Freeze Blast Knock-off: Glue Grenade. It's so embarrassing that they took it out of the Cold, Cold Heart DLC.
Now, PC only bugs and issues: This game had A LOT of bugs. Sometimes, the enemy wouldn't even attack and Batman would take a hit from thin air, breaking a good, long combo. Happens a lot with Martial Artists. Then there's all of Burnley, which is not solid. You can glide right through most of the structures, making the Cyrus Pinkney quest and Enigma Tower impossible to complete. A couple of Enigma Datapacks also become unreachable and have to be accessed via deleting a specific file before the beginning of a session. That's to name a few.
Music : The Music is average at best. Arkham Origins Theme and The Joker's theme are the highlights. Other tracks are okay and may leave a lot to be desired. The Gotham City theme can be annoying in extended sessions. Challenge mode has no variety. It's one of three or four tracks and it gets really old, really quick.
Plot : The Plot can be seen in two ways: why Black Mask was shoved aside in favor of The Joker and how great the latter's chemistry with Batman was. While the plot was decent enough, it did leave me wondering, 'What would it have been had Black Mask been the main villain?' It would've been pretty neat to see a Villain who hadn't been explored in the Arkham Universe before. Then again, Troy Baker shines in his performance as The Clown Prince Of Crime.
The way the Assassins were handled was a little weird, in my eyes. Interesting Villains like Lady Shiva were given a mere side-quest treatment, while Electrocutioner was merely present to give Batman a new gadget to reaffirm. Bane was also a highlight. I loved the way Bane finally felt like a proper, intelligent threat for the first time in Arkhamverse. Then again, one of the biggest impacts he made by killing Alfred was completely moot, as Batman conveniently strolled past a medic using a defibrillator in GCPD. Either way, I loved Bane's design in the game.
Side quests were clumsily introduced, like the first Crime in Progress, or the Enigma tower, which have no business whatsoever in the main story. It can be distracting at times.
By clicking at the targeted laptop model, you’ll be able to look through a comprehensive list of compatible devices.
Bosses : The one department where this game shines! I used to think that nothing could top Mr. Freeze boss from Arkham City. Deathstroke is very, very close to becoming my favorite boss of Arkham series. That fight is incredibly well designed and the way Deathstroke counters Batman's hits and improvises as the fight goes on is incredible. There is actual progression in this particular boss, which is rare to see in video games.
Killer Croc was the intro boss, and so, wasn't particularly difficult. Just a bit annoying because of the quick time event.
Bane got three boss fights. The first (and second) was a proper challenge, and I loved the way I had to alternate between combo takedowns to recharge my Shock Gloves and then switching to Shock Gloves to further deplete Bane's health. The third fight resembled Mr. Freeze's fight from AC, but easier.
While not a boss fight per se, and while it ends the same way Ra's Al Ghul Boss did in AC I liked Mad hatter's Wonderland just a bit more than what was in Arkham City.
Lady Shiva.. man, I wanted to know more about her Arkhamverse counterpart. Instead, she was given a glorified sparring session with Batman. Her boss fight was probably one of the weaker bosses in Origins.
Firefly also had progression in his boss fight. I liked it too.
It's a shame that Deadshot got an Arkham City Two-Face boss ripoff treatment. And we played as Batman, so it was unbelievably easier this time around.
Voice Acting : Troy Baker is, hands down, amazing. He's a close second to my favorite Joker VA, Mark Hamill. Roger Craig Smith's Batman sometimes sounds like Christian Bale' Bats (while growling), but he's pretty good as well. All the major VAs are good and make the cutscenes enjoyable to watch through.
I liked how WB added more mook dialogue. Hearing them beg for mercy during a hand-to-hand combat sequence added slight realism to the game. Though, to be fair.. they still hit/shot at you while begging for mercy, so not completely realistic.
Verdict : Arkham Origins is a good game, yes, but running into bugs makes it annoying, and if you were a master at Arkham City, you'll have no problem completing this game. The Plot may get a bit clumsy at times, but for the most part, it's decent. The Music was a letdown, after the fantastic score I listened to in Arkham City. The lack of innovation and new stuff is also a problem. This whole game can be seen as a glorified extended DLC to Arkham City, only less polished and with the Voice Actors swapped out.
Overall, I give this game a 6/10 for the PC version. While not unbelievably bad, it was still a lazy port of the console version. If the game was bug-free, I'd up the score to 7/10.
So, the hypothetical bug-free version of Batman: Arkham origins gets a 7/10 from me. I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you disagree with me, I respect your choice. Please let me know what you think of Arkham Origins, and have a good day ahead!
See ya!

You can set out to find the Network Relays after you have unlocked the Enigma's side mission, which has been described in the Most Wanted chapter. I recommend that you start searching after you have activated all seven of the comms towers described above, because the locations of the active relays will then be added to the world map and, as a result, you will be easily able to mark them as your destinations.
In each of the main city district, there are 10 network relays to destroy. I recommend that you use the above map here, as well as the side missions menu (Enigma). Destroying each one of the relays is rewarded with 2000 experience points, and destroying the entire network of relays (10 relays) in a given district, is rewarded with a bonus of 15000 experience points.
Note- do not worry if a group of relays temporarily disappears from the world map. This is the manifestation of one of the minor glitches in the game. If this is what happened, you can still destroy the relays. You will only have problems marking them as your destination on the world map.
All of the relays should be destroyed with batarangs
Batman Arkham Origins Burnley Glitch Fixer Upper
After you reach each new relay, you need to do the same thing, i.e. select the batarang from the inventory and use it to destroy Enigma's device. Note - if there is a group of enemies around the relay, and you do not want to fight them, land on some ledge above them and take advantage of the considerable range of batarangs.
